Imagine yourself in Tuscany’s in lush olive groves, sweet hillsides, Chianti vineyards, and romantic hamlets. This tour takes you to the rich Etruscan city of Volterra, famous for its beautiful alabaster, and to picturesque San Gimignano with magnificent towers built in the Middle Ages and cobblestone streets lined with wonderful shops. Travel the legendary Chianti wine road and tour and taste these noble wines. Explore the town of Leonardo da Vinci where we visit Leonardo’s Museum and his home. In Vinci, we will be special guests at Luigi and Filomena’s hillside olive oil estate where you will enjoy an incredible homemade lunch with food and wine grown on the estate. Visit the Italian riviera in Viareggio with its lovely white marble dust sands. Learn how the famous Marble of Carrara is quarried and visit the stunning marble mountains.
Enjoy a full day excursion to the region of Liguria and travel by ferry to visit the beautiful seaside villages of Portovenere and the famous Cinque Terre. Travel to the port city of La Spezia to board a ferry boat to visit the enchanting village of Portovenere with its stunning views and lovely stone church of San Pietro. This area is called the “Gulf of Poets” Byron, Shelley, Wolfe, and Keats all fell in love and lived in this area. Then our ferry will bring us to the magical Cinque Terre where we will enjoy time for lunch, shopping and even a dip into the Mediterranean Sea.
